Our Partners SCCSA And The Bend
The Sporting Car Club is hosting a number of exciting circuit events in 2025.
As part of the partnership between the SCCSA and The Bend, the 2025 Motorsport Australia SA Motor Racing Championship will feature rounds at both Mallala Motorsport Park and The Bend Motorsport Park, forming part of a six-event program throughout the year.
The Autosport All Historic Mallala returns for a three-day event from 11th to 13th April 2025, promising a weekend of historic racing action.
Additionally, we are thrilled to host the return of SA Time Attack as part of our Twilight Trophy event on 15th February 2025.
The SA Motor Racing Championship offers a true “wheel-to-wheel” racing experience against competitors in your class, while other circuit events will include both Regularity and Super Sprint options, ensuring a variety of exciting racing formats for all participants.
The Sporting Car Club owns and operates the Collingrove Hillclimb track, located in the picturesque Barossa Valley, approximately 7km south of Angaston, off the Angaston to Mt Pleasant Rd. The track has been in operation since 1952 and has hosted some of Australia’s most famous hillclimb vehicles and competitors on its challenging course.
The 750-metre track features a demanding uphill climb, ascending nearly 70 metres from the start line to the finish. Prior to the 2025 season, the track was resealed, and an additional 300-metre extension was added, offering an alternative route alongside the historic track. The club also upgraded the return road with a smooth asphalt surface, enhancing the overall experience. Spectators are treated to numerous vantage points and picnic areas around the track, while the Clubrooms and deck provide an elevated view of the start line, offering an excellent spot to watch the action unfold.
Entry Classes
All Motorsport Australia recognised classes can be entered. If there are too few competitors to front a full field of cars, classes are combined with similar speed and vehicle types to give as many entrants as possible someone to race against.

For our other circuit events, a Speed licence may be sufficient.

HQ Racing
It’s easy to drive a fast car quickly, but driving a near-standard HQ Kingswood with its 3.3-litre six-cylinder engine and 3-speed manual transmission—now that’s a real challenge! The concept of racing HQ Holdens was “invented” in Tasmania and was introduced to mainland Australia by the Sporting Car Club, who promoted the first race at Mallala in 1989.
This category has redefined the term “close racing,” with drivers regularly diving three abreast into corners with incredible skill. The best part for aspiring racers is that—relatively speaking—racing an HQ Holden is an affordable way to enter competitive motorsport. After the initial purchase of the car, strict regulations ensure that maintenance and modification costs remain low.
Since everyone uses the same model of car, there is no shortage of advice from experienced racers on how to tune the cars and improve lap times (though not too much!).

Historic Racing
Each of the five rounds of the SCCSA Motorsport Australia State Series feature Historic categories where owners get to put their historics to the test.
All Historic Mallala
The highlight of the historic racing calendar is the annual All Historic Mallala, held every April. This event is the biggest historic racing event in the state and the last of the true picnic races, where you can park alongside the track and enjoy the thrilling action. The event features a range of rare and special cars racing on the iconic Historic Mallala Motorsport Park track.
With car displays and parades, the event is more than just racing—it’s a popular social outing for the whole family! Many competitors consider it the last remaining historic race event that truly captures the essence of historic motoring—companionship, conversation, cars, and competition.

John Blanden's Climb to the Eagle 2025

The tradition of the Adelaide Grand Prix continues as we invite you to join us for the 2025 edition and celebrate the 40th Anniversary. We will convene at the Victoria Park grandstand and proceed to Hahndorf for morning tea via Eagle on the Hill. A panel discussion featuring renowned personalities, moderated by Bob Jennings, will take place during the morning tea. Afterwards, we will proceed to Victor Harbor for lunch.
Fleurieu Twilight Run and Christmas Dinner

Meet 15:45 on the grassed area opposite the Goolwa Yacht Club, Barrage Rd, Goolwa for 16:00 departure on a run with BYO drinks stop enroute.
The run will end at the Middleton Tavern for a 3 course Christmas dinner, choice of 2 entrees, 3 mains and 2 desserts.
